Ceramics is actually not my ultimate passion. What’s true, though, is that there are parts of the clay-making process that I find so enjoyable, that it feels only natural to keep engaging with it.

This sensation - sheer enjoyment of contact with clay, shaping forms,  process of making - became a point of departure for my master studies at HDK-Valand. I was looking inwards and analyzing what’s already there, in my practice, that makes me want to engage. [I discovered, for example, that I love not knowing what I’m creating]

Currently I work only with bisque fired ceramics; I’m highly interested in sculptures made for touch. (Bisque fired surfaces feel very different from high fired clay).

I like examining what constitutes the integrity and “objecthood”  of an object; but I also enjoy producing works that people can get attached to, and that usually involves a functionality. The territory in between functional and non-functional objects is my favorite ground.
